NME Double Page Spread Inspiration

Here is two double page spreads from the music magazine, 'NME'. Both of the magazines show one large image on one side and all the text on the other side. I think this allows the reader to clearly understand who the piece is talking about. I also think the the larger image helps us understand what the band or singer is about. For example, I would say the band on the top double page spread are more laid back whereas the bottom one would be more serious. I can also see that on the double page spreads that a colour scheme has been used which suit the band image. The top one has a blue colour scheme to enhance their male laid back attitude and the bottom one is purple to show seriousness. On my double page spread I should think about how I want this artist to be perceived via the colour and font used. For example, if my chosen person or band is quite serious I will use purple or dark blue and a more formal font. As you can see in the middle of the text that there is a quote from the article. This entices the audience to look at this before they read so it can encourage them to read further.
